Tree Plantation Drive by Zone 1
We’ve all cribbed and complained about how polluted the air in the city is, or how littered the streets are, or even how there is no greenery left in the city, but The Rotaract Club of Jai hind College (RCJC) in collaboration with the Corporate Social Responsibility of Jai Hind College, and West End Hotel (Mr. Vinay Awatramani) undertook a Tree Plantation drive during the week 21st to 27th November 2010 to celebrate Bhagavan’s 85th birthday.. More than 85 Saplings of Hibiscus, Palm trees, Bush plants & Ashoka trees were planted at the following venues:
(1) INS Trata in Worli
(2) Dadar near the Portuguese Church.
(3) Barrack Road Garden near Metro Cinema.
As a famous quote goes, "Even if the world was to end tomorrow, I would still plant a tree today." The tree plantation was symbolic and displayed that the youth are interested in investing time and effort for a better tomorrow. It also addressed the environmental issues that have been causing concern world-wide, by creating awareness about importance of trees; they aimed at having a cleaner and greener city.
