Rudra Yagna at Dharmakshetra on 16.01.2011 - Photos - Part 1 Rudra Yagna at Dharmakshetra on 16.01.2011 - Photos - Part 2 Vishwa Lingam Report of the Rudra Yagna held at Dharmakshetra on 16.01.2011 “The
great land of Mother India is the mainstay of the Vedas. She is the abode
of all sacrificial ceremonies, Yajnas, Yagas and Kratus. She is the great
mother who has given birth to many Avatars. She is the very embodiment of
morality and right conduct. This is the voice of the soul of India which
speaks through our beloved Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba today.” At the
beginning of one of His Discourses, Bhagawan spoke on the Vedas, Yajnas,
Yagas and Kratus, Avataras, morality and right conduct in human society. All
these are inexorably interlinked; they cannot be apart from one another. A
great French philosopher once said, “If there is a place on the face of the
earth which has been the home for the highest dreams of all living men since
the earliest times when man began his dream of existence, it is India.” The
exalted ideals set forth in the Vedas, the idealism that manifests in Yajnas
and Yagas and the Divine Mission of the Avatar and morality and right
conduct in society. These are the dreams of all noble men and women all over
the world. That is why the Rig Veda says, “Let noble thoughts come from
every side.” The great poet Jayadeva sang at the beginning of his immortal
work “Gita Govinda”, “The revival of the Vedas and the survival of this
planet earth are interdependent.” Rudra Yagna was performed on Sunday, 16th January.2011 in the holy precincts of Dharmakshetra. The Yagna started around 8 am and culminated with Poornahuthi followed by Aarti around 3.15 pm. More than 350 devotees were present whole of Dharmakshetra was sanctified with the chantings of the Rudram (Rudra PrashnaH).The yagna began with the chantings of Ganapati and Saraswati Mantras and eleven Namaka Anuvaak. After the Rudram, the eleven, “Chamakam" were invoked. The "Chamakam" is so named due to repeated utterance (338 times) of the words 'cha me'. Swami has said that namakam teaches virakti or what is to be rejected and the chamakam teaches anurakti or what is to be desired. The Chamaka PrasnaH teaches us what is to be desired from God. Besides the Yagna, abhishekam was performed on "Vishwa Lingam" which was materialised by Swami in June 1986 in Kodaikanal and given to Sri Indulal Shah , , This lingam is white in colour and measures about three inches in size. The State President, , Sri Ramesh Sawant, while addressing the devotees present said that it was Swami's blessings that Rudra Yagna was being performed in the holy precincts of Dharmakshetra. He also gave the devotees a brief background of the origin of this "Vishwa Lingam", Sri Chetan Ghatalia translated the same in English and Gujarati. The Vishwa Lingam, as explained by Swami, represents the universe. Swami expounded that the earth is a piece that broke off from the sun and the moon is a piece of the earth. The earth which has its origin in the sun revolves around the sun, So too the moon which is born of the earth, revolves around the earth. Similarly, the life of man, who has his origin in God, should revolve around God. Swami told Smt. Sarla Shah to do abhishekam to the Lingam every day with milk. He also added that both of them drink this milk so that they remain healthy and strong. This Rudra Yagna, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Swami himself is Shiva & Shakti Avatar) is the most sacred and powerful among all the Maha Yagnas. It is very rare that a Yagna of this significance and magnitude was performed at Dharmakshetra and equally rare was the opportunity for the devotees who participated in the same After the the lingam abhishekam performed with milk and honey, it was served to all present as prasadam at the culmination of the Pooja. Another article on Vishwa Lingam posted by Mumbai Srinivasan... Sai Ram, Ekadasi Rudra Homam was performed in Dharmakshethra on 16th January., as per strict veda Agamams. Simultaneously, abhishekam with various ingredients were being performed to a Shiva Lingam. There is something special about this Shiva Lingam. In the year 1985, Swami had created this Divine Shiva Lingam and gave to Madam Saralaben Shah (wife of Shri Indulal Shah). Swami directed her to perform abhishekam everyday and instructed both of them to drink the Theertham, to ward off any sickness. The couple is engaged in this Sadhana uninterruptedly, all these years. When Rudra Homam was being performed at Dharmakshethra, the Shah couple graciously offered this Lingam for Abhishekam, so that all thousands of devotees can partake Theertham. This Divine Shiva Lingam was created
By Bhagawan Baba in the year 1985, at Kodaikanal, and this humble devotee
was most fortunate to be there at that holy muhurtham. Sri Indulal Shah was
then the President of World council of Sai Organization (Viswam) and Swami
appropriately named the Lingam as 'VISHWA LINGAM". |
