Statistical Report of Mobile Medicare Project - Over 2.00 million patients treated
As of March 2013, over 2 million patients have benefited from this project, with 26 districts operating these vans (some districts have more than one van). The mobile vans are reaching out to over 40,000 patients monthly to deliver free medicare at their doorsteps. In addition, 95 villages/slums have benefited – most of the villages under the Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Program were covered.
The Mobile Medicare Project was inaugurated with the Blessings of our Bhagawan on 13thJune 2008 at the Sachivalaya Gymkhana, Mumbai.
As of December 2012, over 1.88 million patients approximately have benefited since inception. From this project. 26 districts operate these vans (some districts have more than one van). 95 villages / slums are benefited (most of the SSSVIP villages are covered) under this program covering more than 450 padas, tandas, gatgram panchayats etc.
One of the notable fact is over the years, these vans have expanded their scope and are also used to propagate balvikas, bhajans and distribution of health/nutrition biscuits. Bhagawans videos are shown at places and posters on health and hygiene are displayed by some vans.
The health standards of inmates of the adopted villages have improved significantly over the period and their ability to work hard and improve their economic status has gone up, resulting in true empowerment.
A centralised hub has been established with proper drug licences for acquiring, storing and distributing high quality medicines to all the mobile dispensaries.
