Report on “Seva for Physically Challenged”

A beautiful hindi song goes as "Dhanya bhaag seva ka avasar paaya., charan kamal ki dhool bana main, moksh marg tak aaya"

It was a wonderful opportunity bestowed by Bhagawan to have Chembur Samithi organize " SEVA FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED" as part of the grand 90th year of the Advent of the Lord. The 3 day program was held in Rochiram Thadani School, Chembur from Oct 2nd to Oct 4th 2015. It was not just a Seva offering but a testimony to the fact that He is the doer, He plans, directs and He is also the One who is accepting the offering.

Swami's unseen presence was felt in the way the registration of the beneficiaries happened, the seamless way in which resources and venue got organized .One week before the Jaipur Foot Camp, there were less than 20 registered Narayanas after efforts of more than two months. However, it was sheer Swami's grace that a number of 101 Narayanas could take the benefit of Jaipur foots and calipers. It was a seva of scale and grandeur truly befitting Swami's 90th birthday celebrations. Apart from this, 28 Wheel Chairs, 22 Tricycles, 30 crutches, 27 Tripod Walking sticks and 2 Walkers were also distributed. In all, 210 Orthopedic Aids were distributed. The Wheel Chairs & Tricyles had Bhagawan's photo and sayings affixed behind so that His name & message too travels far and wide and reaches out to many new people and houses. All the Narayanas who visited the camp on all the 3 days, were served with lunch, snacks and tea.

The valedictory function was a grand affair. Narayanas were felicitated and they took their Tricycles / Wheel chairs and walked with their Jaipur foot and Caliper in front of the alter of Bhagawan and took His blessings. Shri Anoop Saxena, Mumbai District President gave his encouraging words to the Narayanas. Shri. Subhash Salve gave a motivating brief key note address. He is a visually challenged devotee who was also associated in organizing the beneficiaries of the camp.

It was touching to see the kind of physical challenge these Narayanas face and what positive impact a humble Jaipur Foot or Caliper can do to their life. These are not merely walking aids but a symbol of Hope, Faith and Love - verily like Swami Himself. Beneficiaries came just not merely from the slums in vicinity of Chembur but also from far suburbs on the outskirts of the city, Panvel, Pune, Satara, Dhule and Nagpur. Infact, a Bus load of 50 people came all the way from Dhule to be part of this Camp on the last day, of which 27 were beneficiaries. One Narayana from Satara - Mr Ashok Pawar who is immobile due to spine failure had this to say. " Sathya Sai Samithi is keeping Sai Baba' s philosophy alive though He is physically not amidst us. My thanks to them for such initiative which gives us confidence to lead our life with dignity. I also appeal that more such camps be organized in interior villages of Maharashtra"

A word of gratitude to all elders who have guided and facilitated this program.

We all from Chembur Samithi thank Swami from our hearts for having given us this Opportunity to serve HIM.

Bhagawan continues to shower His Blessings and Grace on the Mobile Medicare Project......

The Mobile Medicare Project of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashtra & Goa, inaugurated it 50th mobile medical vans today (22nd October, 2015) on the occassion of Dassera at Dharmakshetra at the hands of the State President of Maharashtra & Goa, Shri Ramesh Sawant. The van was donated by a devotee from Bandra Samithi.

Bhagawan had shown the world that selfless service is the real application of spirituality, and when people are suffering with poor health conditions, one’s prayers and efforts must be turned to serve them and save them from diseases. At the time of launching of this project, Bhagawan had said, “Do not wait for the opportunity to serve, go out and grab the opportunity that is already available,”

And the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Maharashtra & Goa have done just that by taking up this project to serve the villagers at their doorsteps, with complete medical facilities.

Sri Maha Chandi Homam at Dharmaksetra (Morning) & Bhajans by Bandra Samithi (Evening) - 21.10.2015

On the 9th day of Navaratri Sri Maha Chandi Homam was performed at Dharmakshetra in the morning

The Worship of Goddess Chandi highlights the importance of feminine energy and this is reflected in many of its spiritual worships. Goddess Shakthi is the embodiment of all the divine forces and she is the Mother of the Universe. She is the savior of her children on the earth and protects them from all the evil. The Goddess had attained various forms to kill the Asuras
(Demons) who were torturing the humans and the Celestials (Devas).

Chandi is a very fierce and powerful deity. She is the primordial energy that is responsible for the creation, sustenance and destruction of this entire universe. She is the sum total of the energies of all beings of this universe. By performing the Maha Chandi Homa, one can become free of evil eyes, curses, obstacles and they are also blessed with a lasting health, wealth
and prosperity.

In the evening, there were bhajans sang by devotees of Bandra Samithi.

90 Bhajans at Khatwari Darbar by Bandra, Khar and Santacruz Samithi - October 4, 2015

As a part of 90th years celebration of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation of Bandra, Santacruz and Khar Samithi, conducted a non-stop 90 Bhajan session today at Khatwari Darbar, Khar, Mumbai.

The programme began at 2 pm with the lighting of the lamp followed by Veda Chanting for almost 20 minutes.

As Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba mentioned "Devotional singing (Bhajans) is the process of singing that originates in the heart, not from the lips or the tongue. It is the expression of the joyous thrill that wells up from the heart when the Glory of God is remembered. It is the spontaneous manifestation of inner ecstasy. No attention is paid to the blame or praise that others may give. It does not seek the admiration or the appreciation of the listeners. It is also one of the processes by which one can train the mind to expand into eternal values. Devotional singing induces in all a desire for experiencing the truth, to glimpse the beauty that is God, to taste the bliss that is the Self.

The devotees sang with devotion and charged the atmosphere with divine adoration. The bhajans were uplifting and provided an abundance of vibrations, creating a beautiful and energetic atmosphere for all.

Ms. Kaajal Chandiramani, the nightingale of the Sindhi Community and a talented Hindi/Sufi singer also took part and sang few melodious bhajans. She had performed last year, during Bhagawan's 89th Birthday Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam on November 18th, 2014.

The Bhajan session concluded around 8.30 pm with the Aarti and Prasadam.
